Cacao Roots Fund

The Cacao Roots Fund

Eat something good.
Do something good.

Fifty cents from every bar you buy, in store and online, goes back to the people who grow our cacao. You buy the chocolate. Together we fund the work.

How it works

No round-ups, no vague portion of proceeds. A fixed 50¢ from every single bar, pooled into the Cacao Roots Fund, spent on one specific project at origin. We tell you exactly who your bars helped, exactly what got funded, and we come back and show you what changed.

01

You buy a bar

Every bar you buy, in store and online, sets aside 50¢. No opt-in, no round-up at checkout. The bar itself is the contribution.

02

Your bars fund it

Those 50¢ pieces add up and pay for one real thing at origin: tools, training, repairs. You are not watching us give. Your bars are what makes it happen.

03

You see the impact

You meet the people your bars helped, see what got bought, and get the after photos. Proof it was real, and that it was you.

Why we do this

We want to know where our ingredients come from and the people who produce them. Specialty cacao only exists because growing families take risks and do careful, skilled work for years before a single bar reaches a shelf. The Cacao Roots Fund is how our customers share in that, one purchase at a time. Good chocolate should leave the people at the root of it better off.

Where the money goes

We keep this simple and honest so you can trust it.

Each project has a single, all-in goal that covers everything it takes to make it happen: the tools or supplies, plus getting them into the right hands. We break that number down so you can see exactly where it goes. We fund one project at a time, start to finish, before opening the next.

Project 01 — Pruning tools for Martha and Carlos Bautista

A full pruning kit for a cacao-growing couple we met in Colombia, who had only a pair of hand pruners between them. Better pruning means healthier trees, fewer diseased pods, and a bigger harvest they keep the income from.
